1. I will have my car safety-checked every six months.  I don't need any laws requiring this check-up; I know the importance of safety inspections.
2. When I take my car in for repairs, I will not tell the technician what to do to repair it.  I will ask what is wrong with my car, how much it will cost to have it repaired and ask that no repairs are made until I'm called.
3. I will never sign a blank repair order.  It's like signing a blank check.
4. I will always leave a number where I can be reached when I leave my car for repair work.
